Falcons SOAR

SOAR is our school wide expectations that all students can follow. SOAR was developed based on the district's core values. S-Support and Safety, O-Offer Kindness, A-Achievement and R-Respect. These core values help students remember how to use positive behaviors in all areas of the school. SOAR is consistently taught starting at FES and continues at FIS. This ensures students and staff use a common language promoting positive behaviors. FIS has monthly school-wide celebrations that students can earn when all students reach the SOAR ticket goals as one team. There is also a weekly schoolwide SOAR drawing for prizes. Teachers encourage students to SOAR in school and at home.

Implementation of SOAR at School:

The PBIS framework ensures that all students are recognized by all staff at school for positive behaviors. FIS students can earn a SOAR ticket throughout the school day including when they ride the bus. All staff members can reward positive student behavior by giving SOAR tickets. When students earn a SOAR ticket, they can place it in their grade level bucket in the FIS Media Center. Every Monday, SOAR tickets are drawn from each grade level so students have a chance for their name to be announced and to win a prize. Teachers who give SOAR tickets also have a chance to have their name announced and win a prize.
